A thin layer of the medicine should be applied only to the affected areas of the mouth such as gums, inner cheeks and lips, or tongue with clean and dry hands. Yes, the long-term use of Proxym MR Tablet can cause damage to the kidneys. Normal kidneys produce a chemical called prostaglandins that protects them from damage. Use of painkillers lowers the levels of prostaglandins in the body leading to kidney damage on long-term use. Use of painkillers is not recommended to patients with underlying kidney disease.
